Jake continues to make us all proud. This month he’s demonstrated that his Gait Trainer walking has improved greatly since the last time we video taped him 8 months ago. The progress that he has made is astonishing. His gym coach and some others at his school have mentioned that they feel he may be ready to remove the harness from his gait trainer soon. We’ve listed a video from October 2008 and one from June 2009 for you to see his outstanding development. Once again, Jake has proved he will progress on his own schedule!

Jake is no longer taking any anti-convulsant medications and is seizure-FREE! Jake has been off the medication for almost 3 weeks and is doing great. This is significant because Jake has an 85% chance that some form of seizures will return, with the most significant risk of returning immediately upon stopping the medication. We know that he'll always have Epilepsy and that it can be active again at any time, but for now we are absolutely thrilled that he's off the meds and no seizures!

The Family Cafe was a blast. Jake's girlfriend, Teagan, and her family were there too. Dad took Jake down the slide at the hotel pool and was yelled at again for going 2 at a time. But Jake loved it, so it was worth it. The Family Cafe has launched a new initiative called CAN.
