Family CafeCook for a Cure! We attended the 12th annual Family Café conference this past month. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Family Café, beyond the Annual Conference, The Family Café also serves as source of information for individuals with disabilities on an ongoing basis in a number of ways.. The conference offers a tradeshow of resources such as Dolphin Therapies, accessible Vans, Guide dogs and more. It was a beautiful weekend in which our family was able to not only be educated on new equipment, but to also be in a world of normality where every family deals with some kind of disability.

Although Jake participated in his 3rd month of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in June, he was only able to go three weeks, due to a terrible stomach flu. All illnesses tend to affect Jake a little worse than most people. Our very active boy was completely bedridden for 48 hours, you know he was sick. His pediatrician confirmed it was “going around” and he was able to weather the storm.

As many of you know, Cure CMD is the only organization dedicated to bringing research, treatments and in the future, a cure solely for Congenital Muscular Dystrophies. Cure CMD is now offering the "Cook for a Cure!" cookbooks with 500 recipes from all over the world for a tax-deductible donation of $15.00. If you would like a cookbook please visit the link below.

Thank you to all Jake’s friends, family and supporters who have participated in submitting recipes and purchased cookbooks!
